Final College Magazine Cover and Contents Page

Final College Magazine Cover and Contents Page

Evaluation:

Front Cover:
I have designed the masthead to be bold and clear. The colours may be blue but counterbalanced with other factors (such as the use of a female model) to be sure that the magazine does not appear to just be aimed at one sex. The overall composition of the magazine cover is tidy and leaves no dead space. The cover lines and headline are all featured in the left hand third which would be a particular advantage when the magazine is on display. The colours are all designed in accordance to the subject (e.g. the headlines text reflecting the Spanish flag). There is a subtle purple filter that works effectively when representing the college's Prior Pursglove theme, which I can successfully carry into the contents page. However, to improve, one of the factors I would change would be the photograph. The definition of the photo is not very good and prevents the cover from looking professional. This could be due to the camera or just the fact that the picture may not have been in focus in the first place. This is a good tip I can take on to the music magazine.

Contents Page:
The contents page, compared to the front cover, has been rushed and the composition is a little controversial. However, I like the use of the retro camera that I used with an Android phone, which have also had a purple filter inserted so that the contents page and front cover do not clash. The pictures appropriately link to some of the contents and general pictures of happy students.

  1. Some lovely design ideas, Natalia. Some aspects of the contents page are a little unconventional. There might be other ways to make the most of these ideas. Nevertheless, some of the photography is excellent and there are some really neat design ideas on display. Well done!
